Paulo Sacadura Cabral Portas, served as Minister of State and Minister of Defence, Minister of State and Foreign Office Minister and later, Deputy Prime Minister between 2002 and 2015.
He graduated in Law from the Catholic University of Lisbon. In 1988 he became Deputy Director, Director and co-founder of the weekly newspaper O Independente.
He was elected President of the CDS political party which he went on to lead for 16 years, having been elected for 9 consecutive mandates.
He became a guest lecturer at Nova School of Business and Economics and at the Emirates Diplomatic Academy as well as a member of the International Advisory Committee of the Fudan Development Institute in Shanghai.
He was also an Associate lecturer of IE, the Business Institute in Madrid and non-resident Senior Fellow at the Financial Institute.
Currently he is the resident commentator for TVI on the Eight O’clock News, where he comments Portuguese News as well as world news. He also leads seminars on Business Diplomacy for board members and leaders of multinationals, Is founder and director of
Vinciamo Consulting (Strategic consulting company with activity in Europe, the Persian Gulf, Africa and the Americas) and a frequent speaker at institutional seminars and business conferences and is managed by the Thinking Heads agency.
He has received distinctions for foreign citizens from the USA, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Spain, Poland, Romania, among others.
