Mariana Marques lidera a Azimuth World Foundation, uma organização privada sem fins lucrativos, sediada nos EUA, dedicada a servir e apoiar os povos Indígenas de todo o mundo. Nascida em Coimbra, cresceu rodeada por matas urbanas protegidas, jardins botânicos históricos, florestas e importantes reservas naturais. E foi precisamente numa infância rodeada de Natureza que surgiu o seu amor por todos os seres vivos. Desde cedo sentiu-se compelida a contribuir para um mundo melhor, onde a natureza e, por conseguinte, a humanidade, prosperem. Estudou Biologia, trabalhou em Comportamento Animal, Bem-estar e Conservação, como Guia de Natureza, e mais tarde fez carreira em Comunicação e Relações Públicas. A par de tudo isto, é uma viajante apaixonada. Vive no Dakota do Norte, onde passa a maior parte do ano, com Terry Rockstad, o seu marido, com quem co-fundou a Azimuth.

Mariana Marques leads the Azimuth World Foundation, a private non-profit organization based in the U.S., dedicated to serving and supporting Indigenous peoples around the world. Born in Coimbra, she grew up surrounded by protected urban woodlands, historic botanical gardens, forests, and important nature reserves. It was precisely in a childhood immersed in Nature that her love for all living beings emerged. From an early age, she felt compelled to contribute to a better world, where nature and, consequently, humanity can thrive. She studied Biology, worked in Animal Behavior, Welfare, and Conservation, as a Nature Guide, and later pursued a career in Communication and Public Relations. Alongside all of this, she is a passionate traveler. She lives in North Dakota, where she spends most of the year with Terry Rockstad, her husband, with whom she co-founded Azimuth.

Endorois, Cofán e Batwa são nomes de três comunidades cujos exemplos e histórias vão ser partilhados pela voz de Mariana Marques, a portuguesa responsável pela Azimuth World Foundation, organização que desenvolve projetos junto de populações indígenas. É preciso parar e escutar quem melhor conhece o equilíbrio ecológico, respeita a natureza e os diferentes ecossistemas.
