Mario Sergio Cortella, born in Londrina, Paraná/Brazil in March 5th, 1954, is a philosopher and a writer. He holds a Master’s Degree and a Doctorate Degree, both in Education. Cortella worked as a full professor at Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo for 35 years (1977 – 2012) teaching and developing research in graduate programs in Education and in the Theology and Religion Sciences Department (1977/2007). Professor Cortella is a guest speaker at Fundação Dom Cabral (since 1997) and was a faculty member at Fundação Getúlio Vargas São Paulo (1998/2010). He also acted as Municipal Secretary of Education in São Paulo (1991-1992), having previously occupied the position of Paulo Freire’s Special Advisor and Chief of Staff. He is a commentator for radio and television´ programs . Mario Sérgio Cortella is the author and co-author of 45 books until 2020.
