A existência de Portugal, dentro a 50 anos, está garantida, mas será que podemos afirmar o mesmo em relação à União Europeia? Com eleições na Alemanha, em França, e nos Estados Unidos, qual o cenário que se prevê para os próximos tempos e como Portugal se pode posicionar e dar resposta aos novos desiquilibros internos que vão surgir. Como Portugal se pode posicionar perante a velha questão do Atlantismo? E na questão de Defesa e Segurança? Qual o futuro económico da UE? Um conversa sobre a uma nova dinâmica europeia e o lugar que Portugal poderá ocupar num mundo em transformação, onde antecipar o futuro geopolítico será também uma forma de o poder influenciar.

BIOGRAFIA
António Vitorino possui um vasto currículo nas áreas de advocacia, política, administração pública, academia, negócios e organizações internacionais. Entre suas funções mais destacadas, foi Diretor-geral da Organização Internacional para as Migrações, cumprindo um mandato de 5 anos, de 2018 a 2023. No campo político, foi eleito em seis legislaturas para a Assembleia da República pelo Partido Socialista. Ocupou ainda os cargos de Ministro da Presidência, Ministro da Defesa Nacional e Secretário de Estado dos Assuntos Parlamentares. Adicionalmente, foi Juiz Conselheiro do Tribunal Constitucional e Secretário Adjunto do Governador de Macau para a Administração e a Justiça. Como Comissário Europeu, foi responsável pelos pelouros da Justiça e Assuntos Internos, além de ter sido Deputado no Parlamento Europeu, onde presidiu à Comissão das Liberdades Cívicas, Justiça e Assuntos Internos. Atualmente, é Professor no Instituto de Sciences Po, em Paris, e ocupa a presidência do Conselho Nacional das Migrações e Asilo.
Licenciado em Direito, é Mestre em Ciências Jurídico-Políticas e foi admitido na Ordem dos Advogados Portugueses em 1983. Lecionou em várias universidades, incluindo a Universidade de Lisboa, Nova de Lisboa, Autónoma, Internacional e Católica. Também foi sócio da sociedade de advogados Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira e Associados.
Além disso, desempenhou funções em diversas empresas e entidades privadas, seja como membro ou presidente de assembleias-gerais, conselhos fiscais, órgãos de administração ou consultor.
//EN António Vitorino has an extensive professional background spanning law, politics, public administration, academia, business and international organisations. Among his most distinguished appointments, he served as Director General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), completing a five year term from 2018 to 2023. In politics, he was elected to the Portuguese Parliament in six legislative terms as a member of the Socialist Party. He also served as Minister of the Presidency, Minister of National Defence, and Secretary of State for Parliamentary Affairs. In addition, he served as a Justice of the Portuguese Constitutional Court and Deputy Secretary to the Governor of Macau for Administration and Justice. As a European Commissioner, he was responsible for the Justice and Home Affairs portfolio. He also served as a Member of the European Parliament, where he chaired the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE). He is currently a Professor at Sciences Po in Paris and serves as President of the Portuguese National Council for Migration and Asylum.
He holds a Law degree and a Master’s degree in Legal and Political Sciences, and was admitted to the Portuguese Bar Association in 1983. He has taught at several universities, including the University of Lisbon, NOVA University Lisbon, the Autonomous University of Lisbon, the International University, and the Portuguese Catholic University. He was also a partner at the law firm Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira & Associados.
In addition, he has held positions in a wide range of companies and private organisations, serving as a member or chair of general meetings, supervisory boards, boards of directors, and as a consultant.
